Yes, please find a way to reproduce this. (I often post-process with
gimp and that seems to work).

Strange TIFF behavior
Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I save my Hugin panoramas as tiff files.
Some but not all of these tiff files yield this message in GIMP and will not
load:
<<incorrect count for field "BitsPerSample" (3, expecting 4); tag ignored>>
These same files are identified as "Not a TIFF file" by IDImager, my image
database
However, they open just fine in ImageVisu, a freeware viewer, AND in Faststone
4.0 where I can edit and save them either as tiff or jpg.
I will try to make some small pseudo-tiffs, the ones failing are 40 Mb and i
hesitate to attach anything that big.
