Stitch output name using prefix not as expected

Bug description:
Not sure if this a bug or expected behaviour.
Using a build of current default, hg444152333fbc.
Stitching fred-1, fred-2. The suggested output name prefix for the stitch is
"fred-1-fred-2".
I altered name to "fred-1-fred-2.stitch" and ended up with
"fred-1-fred-2.jpg", so my choice of output name was altered.
