I just found that one of the images being stitched is in 8-bit RGB and the other in 8-bit grayscale. Perhaps that is the problem (though Hugin had no errors when aligning the images).

HuginStitchProject occasionally encounters an error when remapping the LDR images. Usually a rerun is successful, but this time it wasn't, so I thought it was worth reporting.let me know if you need more data.
