I got a spurious crash in a similar situation, switching between
Architectural and Equirectangular forth and back.

Ubuntu 10.4
I am loading an equirectangular image of 6.5 MB. Set HVOF to 360 and
projection to equirectangular.
When changing the projection to Architectural in Fast Panorama preview Huign
disappears.
