I am just trying to prepare a lens profile for an 80mm medium telephoto lens. I intend to use EXIF for FoV and crop factor, and ensure that the optical axis is at right angles to the axis of rotation.
My question is:- Is it OK to use a near (c.5 metre), feature rich target for this purpose when the profile will be applied to distant landscape subjects. Would the lens profile vary depending on the distance to the target used for calibration?
