I just ran up Ubuntu 11.1 64bit and selected Hugin from the package
manager. It was called "Panorama" but seems to be the 2011.2 version.

When I try to run it, I get this message.

Configuration file "/home/rich/.kde/share/config/panoramarc" not
writable.
Please contact your system administrator.

rich is the current username

This doesn't seem right, Hugin isn't a KDE application so I wouldn't expect it to try and write to a file in ~/.kde

What happens if you start a terminal window, type 'hugin', and hit the enter key?
