Coincidentally I played with VisualSFM as well. Yes, SiftGPU runs blazingly fast on my Radeon HD 4200 as well. However, it didn't find enough features to allow VisualSFM produce a 3d-reconstruction. siftwin32, which runs on the CPU, took 20 times as long but found much more features and led to a good reconstruction...
