Yes, all this can be done in Hugin without using Photomatix.
Also if you are pre-processing to create tonemapped HDR images
before stitching, this kind of data has lost all useful photometric
information. This means you can't use the Hugin Assistant tab,
since the Assistant attempts to do photometric optimisation -- which
will fail unless you are feeding it real photos.
So with tonemapped photos you need to stitch 'manually' using the
Images and Optimiser tabs.
