It's hard for me to understand what you have done and what exactly is your problem.
After adding 26 pictures, which steps did you do? What interface did you use (Simple, Adv, Exp)? Have you checked control points? Are you using automatic or manual stitch? Describe your steps in more details and send your hugin project file (PTO) to help us understand what you've done. It can also help to inform what Hugin version and what operational system you use.
