Hi, only the xml, the "dump" file is not human readable. Please, if the xml were big, better to upload to a file share service (dropbox, google, etc) than to send by email.
*Also, have you tried to delete the "preferences" and restart hugin?* Please see how in the last paragraphs here: https://wiki.panotools.org/Hugin_Preferences, Troubleshooting, And, yes, Hugin is not a commercial product, with paid support. You can find here in this mail list lots of ideas, problems, solutions for the problems, etc, many times from real experts (far better than paid support!) with Hugin and panoramic photography.
