I'd like to thank Mark Jones, John Peterson, Jose Gallardo, et al.,
for Gofer, WinGofer, and Hugs 1.3.
I started studying functional programming on my own this past December (1996),
and these interpreters have been very educational. Unfortunately, I haven't
been programming professionally, and my university doesn't offer FP as a
subject (UnivColorado,Colorado Springs). I hope to do more FP as I start this
fall at the University of Denver, even if I have to do it on my own.
I look forward to installing Hugs 1.4 on my Win3.1 DOSbox, an elderly laptop.
I'm thinking of getting Thompson's "Haskell: The Craft" and working through
it with Hugs on this old box.
For variety, I've been trying out Moscow ML, MicroML, an old PC version of
Edinburgh ML, Hope and any other FPL I can find that runs on my laptop
(386SL, 25MHz, 6MB RAM, 130 MB HD, and *no* 387 math coprocessor).
Actually, I'm a little worried that Hugs 1.4 might not run on my PC.
Thanks for your time.
