Editor on MacOS

[Kazuomi Kuniyoshi]

Dear Sir or Madam,

I use the newest Hugs 98 on Mac OS 8.6 and cannot figure out how to set the
default editor (to SimpleText, for instance) and interact with it. Whenever
I try to work with an editor, I recieve a message,

Warning: Editor terminated abnormally

Could you tell me what's going wrong?
