No Trev, I don't think it has anything to do with temperature, the
atmosphere or anything meteorological. The Earth's magnetic field may
have an effect as the Hum may use it as a conduit. Ordinary sound
waves are like ordinary radio waves which travel from point A to point
B and are perceived by your lugholes or trannie accordingly. You could
be at the centre of the Earth, on the surface anywhere, under the
ocean, at the poles, even in the space shuttle and should you be
susceptible to the Hum, you'd perceive it. Why, how can this be?
Standard forms of transmission are Hertzian in nature, the Hum isn't
Hertzian at all - it's scalar, and scalar waves manifest themselves
wherever there is someone, or something to detect them, and that
includes inside a Faraday cage or the vacuum of space. Tesla
technology modified, improved on, but for what reason? That's the
mystery of the Hum.
