Hi Rob.
Our group is small and though we dig deep we have limited resources
and time.
Much 'own research' is the order of progress usually- with as much
mutual support as we can muster!
There are many historical reports of Hums in Hawaii and the geology
figures (as volcanic) too.
Do a search and read-up, It's what it takes for different sites and
Hum presentations.
Your Hum seems a bit high in frequency compared to many but if it is
repeating like a random two tone siren, then the pattern is right.
If there are many getting the same there- then you can compare notes
(in depth that is ) and come to a conclusion and pursue the local
Public Health people to investigate.
If you can record anything privately that is always worth trying- but
success will be evasive, if it is Hummmmm. It's tricky by nature!
Use this free Spectrogram software at
http://www.visualizationsoftware.com/gram.html
to analyse your PC microphone sound input. and see any standing sound
patterns that match-, especially at night.
See O-cct plot on Files here- from last year- for comparison .
A surprising amount of LF noise is around.
