Hi Pam- it might be helpful to travel out of the area to see if it ceases. Bear in mind in-car noise can numb your hearing senses for Hum, so take a stroll somewhere quiet! If it does cease and returns at home later- then try contacting your Public Health people - they have a duty to follow up complaints but may not do anything practical if they don't have the special equipment needed. Your symptoms sound quite severe. The fact that others have heard is good. They may not be as sensitive to 'it' as you are! At least you're doing something positive and will need to have channels of communication for later- if hum persists.
