April 2010 to date 415 people have submitted replies to the Hum Sufferers 
Survey.

Age Group

73% of replies were from sufferers aged over 40 and 27% from those under 40

Gender

Of the replies 51% were from males and 49% from females

Hearing

74% reported their hearing as good, 20% as average 10% as poor and 10% as deaf

Indoors and Outdoors

81% reported the Hum as louder indoors, 3% louder outdoors 16% the same

Night and Day

71% reported the Hum as louder at night 2% louder in the day 27% the same

Upstairs and Downstairs

34% reported the Hum as louder upstairs 8% louder downstairs 58% the same

Weekend and Weekdays

14% reported the Hum louder at weekends 6% louder at weekdays 80% the same

Laying Down and Sitting Up

41% reported the Hum louder laying down 1% louder sitting up 58% the same

Adverse health effects reported

Headaches 107, Insomnia 176, Nausea 64, Fatigue 154, Tension 150, 

Difficulty concentrating 139, Pins and needles 58, Heart palpitations 82,

Earache 62, Aching muscles 86, Memory loss 83 

Location

41% live in a rural location and 59% in an urban location

This result is very significant as most people live in towns and cities 

Motion Sickness

34% reported they were prone to motion sickness 66% reported they were not
