As I have always maintained any investigation worth its salt must begin
with measurement. You will see that none of items mentioned in the
collection of causes contain an actual measurement of the Hum. All the UK
government investigations into the Hum begin with the use of a microphone
and as we all know the Hum cannot be detected with a microphone, or any
acoustic equipment. In the past when I have been approached by the media to
make a comment about the Hum I always make the simple statement that this
is a noise that can be heard by people who are totally deaf and although
this is a know fact they never print or broadcast this, they always adhere
to the official government line.
