A recent post raised the question of the background to the World Hum Database and Mapping Project. My background, research, and writing can be found around the web, but to summarize: - academic researcher and lecturer (Ph.D 2007 from UBC) - public school teacher for 24 years in BC (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology) - former school principal in Manitoba, Canada - badminton academy coach in Gibsons, BC. MEASURES FOR FULL TRANSPARENCY AND PROTECTING THE INTEGRITY OF THE DATABASE: - The public database is instantly updated when the survey is filled out. If anyone wants, they can be added to the list of people who are instantly alerted if any changes whatsoever are made to the database. That includes whenever I need to go in and edit something! If anybody wants to know why an entry into the database was deleted or changed, they can ask me on this forum and I'll give the reasons why. - At this point the map itself is under my sole control. Map locations are added manually to prevent spammers from corrupting the map. Thank you for all the recent map markings and suggestions.
