Hi! Welcome to the group. a good first report, I thought. Over the years the Hum has eased for me- butI know it's always there. Firstly, many agree that to focus on it can make it worse, even if the volume stays the same as the insistence is wearing after a time. There are many ideas as to what Hum is [or isn't] but in this 'later age onset' event in susceptible people- though some quite young do report it occasionally. Use of white noise generators [a big summer fan may suffice] have been used with success. A radio tuned 'off station' can do the same job. My tinnitus has got worse [BP/Gout meds?] and that has reduced my hum from 'medium' level to' very low' currently. It's good that your husband understands as doubters close by can often this can make the Hum worse- which no one needs. This group has been going a while and low level activity generally but is a good place to raise ideas or share thoughts- as feeling out of it's imagined is not helpful. Too many report it now for that- but Govt's are wary of giving the issue credibility as it impinges on the UHF spectrum licences and development that makes so many rich businesses and govt agencies to manage them. Motorways.Gas pipelines and the HV Grid are not moving anytime soon.. Vic [on this site], who sadly passed away not far back, was very incensed by Smart Meter technology which he felt was 'the culprit' for him. I thought it was too raspy for Hum candidature. He was in the process of taking the US Govt to court on the health aspects of this technology when he suddenly died after having some health issues serious enough to make it very much worse for him. You can check his posts on here still- if you search. Hope this gives you an overview on this Hum problem,
