For several I have detected, measured and recorded the Hum using a detector
based on a metal reed. I have just repeated some of these observations
using a reed made of plastic.

The results were not as good but the effects could clearly be observed
showing that the Hum has nothing to do with radio waves of any description.

I will now try more non metallic materials.

It may also be possible to make a very sensitive Hum detector using a
single quartz fibre mounted in an evacuated glass tube. If this works it
would be closer to my original attempt to model as near as possible, the
cilia of the inner ear.
