Interseting .. not sure as I dont use step at all.
But one big RM tip came out of your post .. SET THE LED DISPLAY TO MEASURE - there is no other way !!
Seeing the bars and beats in big letters is the only way to go live so you can see exaclty where you are at any time - you can be sure when to bring in other patterns, cue band members, run to the bar etc etc .. I only wish that you could disable the parameter readings that come up on the led when you tweak knowbs (while the unit is playing that is), so it doesn't interupt the bars and beats display.
