No, I can't hear any distortion over the main outputs. But that sure is a
piercing synth lead.

I'm using a Mackie CR-1604 Mixer to listen to the output of the RM1x. If you
are using a consumer stereo amp or some sort of cheaper mixer it could very
well be that your preamp can't take the output of the RM1x. Pro (and even
semi-pro) equipment usualy has much hotter output then comsumer equipment.
