i completelly agree with you that reaktor is *very* powerfull and
usefull......but it's for the same reason i don't buy a dedicated computer
to run cubase or logic but an RM1x that i don't want to use reaktor as the
realtime performance/sampler center of my setup....
first: it is expensive to buy a fast computer, large monitor, good soundcard
with SPDIF and multiple outs, good (external)D/A converter, etc. and the
software...at least as expensive as a good hardware sampler.....
second: windows isn't known for it's stability....timing and crashes.....i
wouldn't bet on it.....
third: nothing beats a good hardware interface...but of course you could use
a midi-controller to control the reaktor computer.....
anyway: i really love generator (i have it running at my computer) to modify
stuff and create soundsources which i transfer to my beloved A3000...
ok, i don't believe in the software platform anymore as long as it runs on
windows...too much crashes and strange behaviour....for non-critical and
non-live stuff it will work fine, but not for critical and live stuff...at
least IMHO..
