Hi, i'm back and U know what: i bought the secondhand A3000 (version 2) !

Frankly, I think everyone should have one, it' s just fantastic gear,
stable,
good sound, low noise, no delay and it's more portable than your average
high end desktop system.

I agree with Olaf that computers are quite good for generating sounds to be
used
in a certain setup, but for a real-time setup with a lot of fx, something
running on a
computer (under Windows) just isn't good enough.

NB: Unless u have some good dsp power, check out: www.creamware.de for that
!

I ran Generator to test my system
and i used up 50 % of my system resources just on 1 instrument + effects, I
wonder
what noise 16 simultaneous voices with lp/hp/bp filters and
delay/flanger/reverb/...
would bring up ?
Probably some good bits + a lot of clicks and finally a crash ?

For some time I was a software adept, because of the versatility &
upgradeability and so,
but when you consider all the odds, a hardware setup is just more bang for
the bucks !

Greetz to you all,

keep on rm1xing in the free world,

Vincent

PS: I'm currently mailing from my father's mailbox, because it was
temporarily not possible
to send mail from my own account the time i subscribed to this list, hence
the different names above
and beneath this message
