Muting in real time is possible. The negative about it is the fact you can’t program it.

Let’s explain how :

In pattern or song mode, you select the track you want to mute. Then, push record and select overdub. Start recording and mute as you want (remember : make sure that you are in mute mode ! ! !). After recording, you always can undo the operation.

But again I admit: it would have been handy if you can program the whole thing. But we can’t change it, so what sence has it to continue complaining about it ?

PS : before you ask questions, look into your manual. And even better, when you buy your RM1x, try to go through the whole manual. I know, it’s hard (with such a great box), but only in that way, you are the boss and not the Yamaha. Maybe, I sound boring, but it helps a lot to fix problems. And you can work much faster, with the possibilities in your mind !
