Subject: triggering rm1x form
pc1600x
Hi
I`ve been trying to trigger the rm1x sections A
thru P externally from my pc1600x midi controller buttons 1 thru
16.
The system exclusive to do this is listed in the list book
page 18 under section control.
It reads as follows
F0 Exclusive
status
43 Yamaha
ID
7E Style
00 Section
control
ss Section
dd
On/Off
F7 End of
Exclusive
It also states that ss=08H - 0FH. Correct me if I`m wrong
but this is only 8 different hex values and therefore cannot address 16
different sections.
Again it states that:- dd=on is received, and the pattern
will be changed to the RM1X`s sections A - P respectively.
So what is hex for on then?
Interestingly, I tried to use the pc1600x`s learn mode to
capture the midi data from the RM1x as I switched sections but despite the
RM`s midi out lamp blinking to signal a midi output (maybe it wasnt sysex),
the pc1600x did not slurp up anything.
Why am I trying to do this?
Well I want to trigger the RM1x`s sections from my V-Drums
Kit so I can play along live and switch sections in real time using the rims
of cymbal pads etc.
The PC1600x will allow its buttons to be remotely activated
using note numbers which I can assign to my pads, so when I hit it, the drum
brain should spit out a pre programmed note number to activate the relevant
button on the PC1600x which should in turn spit out the relevant sysex to
switch to a specific pattern.
This would be great for live stuff if I could only get it to
work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Many Thanks
Chris
