has anyone actually seen a comprehensive review online (or off
for that matter) for the su700. or know where i can look
at a manual for it? i am very curious about its true
capabilities but can only find copies of the press release
about it.

in particular i'd like to know how well it deals with
one shot instruments like kicks and snares that
aren't looped - can you adjust the pitch on the fly?
how does it handle mapping multiple sounds to a
particular midi channel? does it support multiple
channels?

i have a kurzweil k2000 and an eps-16 but i'm looking
for something a little simpler for live gigs. the eps-16
is just too big and burly to carry (and only 1meg of ram)..
the k2000 is nice but doesn't really have all the performance
options i need as far as switching between different sets
of sounds for different tracks etc. plus it is a pain that
you can only have one channel with infinite layers of parts,
forcing me to make a bunch of different instruments for
each sample instead of one meta instrument per song..
how does the su700 deal with this? does anybody have
one that they could give some more in depth info
about how its samples are triggered from external
midi notes (is this even possible or does it have to
be the master seq to support the looping stuff properly)

hmm. just very curious - sorry if slightly off topic although
i guess it is a hardware sequencer in some sense.. thanks.
