1.  What is your MIDI interface?
2.  Did you pray to the MIDI gods?
3.  What version of Cakewalk are you running?

Seriously though, you have to let Cake be the master.  It does not support
digital audio if it is slave, because the incoming clock cannot stabilize the
audio playback.  If you got to (in version 9) Options|Project|MIDI out, you can
make Cake send midi clock to the Rm1x.  Make sure to have it send 480 ppq.  Set
the Rm1x's sync to MIDI and all should be well.
