I just noticed (while reading the manual again) that the RM1X
can hold 800 user patterns.. but only 256 phrases...
this troubles me to a degree.. Since I write 4/4 techno (mostly),
would it be wiser to take preset phrases for any generic bits
(straight 4/4 kick.. 4/4 hihat run.. ect), leaving the more room
for my unique patterns? Is the sound of a given preset phrase
tied to the phrase, or can you swap around sounds in
the same phrase (phrase= rhythm and other programming info.. ect)..

If the answer to my first question (about being forced to utilize
the preset phrases to save memory) is "yes".. then is it relatively
easy to find these basic phrases ??

Does anybody else see an issue with only having 256 user
phrases?? I'd like to know how justin berkovi is capable
of packing a full albums worth of data into a single setup (disk).

speaking of which (damn, I am "Mr. Question".. am I not?)
How long does it take (generally) to load a disk's worth of
info into the memory of this machine (curious, cause I might
find myself doing it in a gig.. not to mention I'd be dealing
with it everyday in my studio).

thanx,
