for all you brave souls out there, buy a bottle of contact cleaner and
open up yer rm1x. don't be shy. you'll notice a whole lot of crap and dust
inside.

spray the buttons while pushing them a few times. if you want to clean the
knobs, don't -- don't spray the pots unless you are *absolutely certain*
about the effects of the pot cleaner that you're using. you can easily
destroy the lubrication in the pots this way.

oh, and don't take the display apart: it's way too easy to scratch
(speaking from experience here).
