Greetings... haven't seen much traffic today since I subscribed. My name is
Jason Clark, and I've just recently purchased a Yamaha QY700.
It looks like the kind of monster sequencer I've been looking for, haven't
been able to figure it out that much yet, though. I think I need to be able
to get around all the preset phrases and such, and learn the step and punch
in sequencing, and I'll be alright.
My music style varies. I'm really into experimental and ambient stuff (Art
of Noise, Kim Cascone, Fax label, Warp Records, etc. etc.) I have two CD's
of music out under the name Strange Loop. I DJ and play live alot here in
the Midwest and beyond. Some mp3 files of mine can be found at
http://www.mp3.com/strangeloop. My personal webpage can be found at
http://www.strangeloop.nu.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. My previous sequencing experience
is limited to an Atari 1040ST and an Alesis MMT-8. They were adequate, I
guess, but I think I'm ready for something with alot more control, rather
than just running through loops.
My other gear consists of: Yamaha A3000, Juno 106, Korg Prophecy, Mackie
1402vlz, DP/4, and a bunch of other stuff that I have access to through
friends (909, 606, 303, K2000, Techstars, etc., etc,). I have a Mac G3, but
I use it mainly for Graphic Design and web stuff. I would just hate to have
to use my computer for sequencing if I didn't have to. I'm on a computer too
much nowadays as it is. I am hoping to soon get into hard disk recording
with my Mac, though.
alright.... that's it for now. feel free to say hi, i use this hotmail
address for some lists i'm on, but my real addy is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] for
personal stuff.
thanks!
