Mike (and any others not familiar with the intricacies of uploading to
samplelibrary.net)--
Uploading to SLN is a several step process:
1.) Create file and save (obviously)
2.) Even though RM1x patterns and files are fairly small it might be a good idea to
save as a ZIP file so that it will be easier for other users to download. Some
computer formats, OSes, or browsers have a problem downloading certain file extensions
correctly. The other 3 patterns in the RM1x directory at SLN are already in ZIP
format. And that allows you to add a small text file telling about your contribution.
3.) Upload file to the: ftp.teklab.com/teklab/incoming directory. That should be the
only directory that outside users of TekLab are allowed to upload to anyways.
4.) Go the samplelibrary.net site.
5.) Create a username and password for yourself (if you haven't already done so).
6.) There is an option on the SLN site to add a file to it. It should ask for your
username and password, and a pulldown menu will appear on the page listing the current
files available in the incoming directory. Choose the file you just uploaded to the
incoming directory. There also is a text field section to describe your files as
thoroughly as possible, as well as genres to choose from (if applicable).
7.) After that is done the file should be automatically put into the appropriate
directory at samplelibrary.net and TekLab for other users to download and enjoy.
8.) Notify us on this list so we know to download it and tweak it some more :)
