Emne: OT: SU700 Sampler questions...

>First off, I'm assuming that the SU700 only responds to one MIDI channel at

There are 16 channels. You can trigger 16 samples at the same time. Assign a channel
to a midi channel at the RM1X, then assign a sample to a midi channel on SU700, and
off you go.

>From reading the SU700's manual, it appears you can use Note-On/Off messages
>to play any of the 40 samples contained within a song. Is this correct?

Yes.

>Do all the samples trigger the same over MIDI regardless of if they're assigned
>to a Loop Track, Composed Loop Track, or Free Track?

Guess so. If you'll use it only to trigger samples, you wont be worrying about that. I
dont. Have never thought of it.

Dunno 'bout that one. I have not had any problems.

>Or can you only control the setting which the SU700's knobs are
>currently set to control?

You can control-fuck it as much as you like, basically. ;-) C'mon, they'r both Yamaha
for christ sake, they WANT'em to work toghether. They'r made for each other.

>How smoothly does the SU700 change effects when switching scenes?

Never switched a scene for as long as I've had it...

>me, I'd be really gratefull. Later.
