if people could make hitrecords with only an TR909, TB303 and Casio SK1 in
the past, then we with all our advanced gear with internal effects could
definately make records!

a guy i know is a great techno producer (Random XS) he released on Djax
upbeat, and works a lot with the techno gods from Detroit...his first
release was made with only a TR808, a TB303, and a little yamaha sampler
that could only be triggered with an audio signal..all fed through an old
noisy effects-unit to make the signal stereo, and mixed on a DJ mixer....it
has sold lot's of copies and is still included on lot's of compilations and
mixalbums..

so there you are: it's not about the quality of the gear anymore, it about
how you use it!
