yeah, i think i know what you're talking about--this same thing drove me crazy for a couple days when i first got my RM1x but here's how i get around it: if you press the pattern button once (to bring up the 2nd pattern screen), then press the record button, it'll bring up the selected voice along the bottom of the screen. this is where you dial in your voice selection; then press "stop" and it should be saved. i don't know if this is "the right way" to handle this; but it's worked fine for me for months now. hope this helps, t. tara rodgers [EMAIL PROTECTED] brooklyn, ny * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
