Logic kicks serious computer sequencer ass. That said, I'd use the Rm1x
for development of your songs, because you'll get more done, faster.
Since I sit in front of a computer screen all day at work, the idea of
sitting in front of of again for 4 more hours at night fills me with a
nameless dread.
Concerning slaving Rebirth to the Rm1x, it's really easy. Propellerheads
has a tutorial on how to do stuff like this.
