Hi Philipp,
So I copied all the required files to a 64MB Compact Flash card, and
still get the SDG Systems logo page, with hx4700 Linux version
1.2.3-hx4700 info, nothing else. Also, only pulling out the batterie
will power off the device from this state, not even hard reset will work.
Any ideas?

You need a CF card for this. The bootloader doesn't support SD/MMC.
