Hello Giorgio, Your're a wizard and magician! I updated all files in kernel26/sound and kernel26/include/sound via cvs and... voila! The noise effect disappeared. Moreover, opie-mixer-applet has begun working (recently I was able to use only amixer). Now I can hear the same noise only when audio file is being played and volume is set to near-zero value.
