Thanks for your reply. I have looked at this site before and the 'required 
software' page shook my confidence a bit. Although I'm more of a hardware guy 
than a software guy, I did try the roll-my-own approach with some success using 
the scripts at http://www.kegel.com/crosstool/current/doc/crosstool-howto.html
But I'm told I'll need the patches and header files for familiar 0.8.4. in 
order to build graphic application (gtk) bin files that will drop onto the 
hx4700. So I am hoping there is someone out there who's written graphic 
applications for the hx4700 that can hold my hand a bit on getting a toolchain 
setup.
