hiho, only a small info. the sample fun branche is ready to test. the new fx_rack will move into an other branch. create a new fx rack is a little bit complexer. maybe to complex for me:-).
the sample_fun bring this new features: ** note properties ** * switch between two keyboard play modes. old normal mode play the whole drumset. every key play an other instrument (midi note-on 35++). the new mode play only the selected instrument like a piano. of course it record the note_key from every new note with midi keys you can play over 7 octaves (,,C to c''') also you record the velocity but this is not new. * switch between right click into pattern editor edit the note length (old) or add a new note_off note(new). so you can turn off samples which are longer than the pattern that activate this note. (also midi note off will recorded. but this is experimental and works not so good. you can activate this option into pref. midi dialog) * note properties ruler get the note_key entry. into this note properties ruler you can select the note_key c c# d d# e f f# a.s.o.. and for every note you can select the octave from ,,C to c''' for every note. http://popez.org/~wolke/hydrogen/images/instumenteditor.png so you can program melody's. with the old pitch wheel it is possible to tune different samples. into the image you see the note_key properties ruler. the 7 first horizontal lines set the octave (blue dots). the white and black lines shows one octave of piano keys. c up to h(b). (white ore black dots). (i personally don't like piano roll editors). ** sample editor ** *can edit start, loop_beginn and end from the samples. *can loop reverse, forward or pingpong. *can fade out a sample. all samples are only edit into buffer. so the samples on disk will save and untouched. all setting will saved into the song. so you can use 1 drumset with different sample properties into different songs. into the the new sample editor you see 3 displays. the 1. big display show the untouched sample from disk. here you have 3 position rulers. the green ruler edit the sample start frame, the blue ruler edit the loop begin and the red ruler the sample end or loop end point. http://popez.org/~wolke/hydrogen/images/sampleeditor.png into the left wave display you can see the zoomed active ruler position. that is usefully to find a zero passage into the sample. this reduce clicks and pops. into the 3. display you see the buffered sample after processing. also into this display you can edit the fade out start frame ruler. ok:-)) i try to make a desktop video. but it was a horrible trip. so the quality of my video is really bad. i hope it shows how the new feature's work. here the bad and to big :-/!! video. http://popez.org/~wolke/hydrogen/video/out_klein.avi does somebody knows a cool desktop video recorder which work together with jack, and dont't record the full display resolution. i mean a re size during recording. greetings wolke ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Hydrogen-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hydrogen-devel
