Thanks for the update. There is now another small compilation issue:
Compiling no file at Thu Jun 30 10:58:07 2016
Error (bytecomp): Cannot open load file: No such file or directory, debbugs-gnu
After installing the debbugs package, I could compile hyperbole
successfully.
