The currently released version of Hadoop (0.20.2) has a problem with the file sync() operation. When run on top of this version of Hadoop, Hypertable can lose data and/or become corrupt in the face of hardware failures. The 0.20-append branch contains a set of patches that fixes the problem:
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/hadoop/common/branches/branch-0.20-append/ We highly recommend that you run a version of Hadoop that contains these patches. Cloudera's latest Hadoop distribution, CDH3, includes these patches (as well as a number of other fixes). We've decided to base Hypertable 0.9.3.4 on the CDH3 Hadoop core. - Doug -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Hypertable Development" group.
