Here's a note from the quicklz folks:
-------------
QuickLZ 1.5.0 has been released.

After more than 12 months and petabytes of data testing and bounds
checking on numerous machines and architectures. Thanks to all beta
testers who have implemented 1.5.0 in their own beta software!

Please send us suggestions for improvements, bug reports, techical
questions, etc - we can't get enough user contact. For the past years we
have had an average e-mail response time around 1 hour, so there is no
excuse! :-)

---------

We'll integrate this new version in the upcoming release. We use quicklz as
the compressor for the Commit Log. Notice the performance difference
between the C implementation and the Java implementation:

compression:
C - 308 MB/s
Java - 127 MB/s

decompression:
C - 358 MB/s
Java - 95 MB/s
