Looks like there is a performance problem with the 0.9.5.0 "pre2" release. The RangeServers will pause a very long time when they hit low memory condition. We're testing a fix for it now and will issue a "pre3" release shortly. If you haven't upgraded yet, you might want to wait for "pre3". We do have test coverage for this situation. Unfortunately, I failed to check the results of the test last night before we pushed out the release. I apologize for any inconvenience.
