The insert will go to the old range server that was managing the pre-split
range.  Once the split takes place, it will report OUT_OF_RANGE error.  The
client will go into a loop, pausing briefly and then re-traverse the
METADATA table.  This will continue until the new "split off" range is
assigned to a new range server.  At that time, the METADATA table will be
updated properly and the client will read the new location of the new
split-off range from the METADATA table and the update will succeed.
