December 15, 2004 Be aware that preferred stocks are fixed income securities with no protection against inflation. The prices rise when interest rates fall. Conversely, when interest rates rise the price of preferred and other fixed income securities fall. Also, be aware that some so called preferred stocks are not really simple securities. Some are really promisary notes. Check them out VERY carefully. Ralph Seger
