On what you wrote, yes, that's correct in that regard as well. My alternative suggestion was for individuals whom wish to add his/her own geniconvtbl binary table of their own for use with UTF-8 locales only or simply add symlinks, again, of their own since we already have UTF-32 <-> UTF-8 iconv shared objects under /usr/lib/iconv/.
