and try the stick on other devise. sometimes I also zero the drive: dd if=/dev/zero of=<drive> bs=1m or some zero'ing the MBR also helps, dd if=/dev/zero of=<drive> bs=512k count=1 I know 2G sd-card does work on a Classmate. .
