Yes, I have continued doing some with MSP430s with very limited time.
No, I have not done much documenting, alas.
My biggest accomplishment so far has been putting together a MSP430 and
L293D - With that arrangement I can run either a pair of DC motors
forward or aft independently, getting full control, or a bipolar step
motor, with the only addition of a battery and a capacitor. The way I
have it running now I actually have the MSP430 away from the Launchpad -
I use the Launchpad merely as a programmer, otherwise the setup is just
the 2 ICs and one capacitor - all coding using an XO 1.

documenting.
BTW, you can sign up with TI.com to get free samples - simply use an
.edu address - and they will send you for free extra MSP430 MCUs and L293Ds.

I was not as clear as I wanted to be. Arduino (or Energia, an
alternative) would be fine. I was speaking about using mspdebug, which
is purely command line based.
mspdebug is packaged in Fedora so it should be as simple as "yum
install mspdebug" on an XO

The next release will be based on F-17 but both those packages are
