(1) I estimated the cost at $1000. Until we calculate the number of strings, we will not know the price. FWIW, Edgar has done a great job in the past for us -- he works quickly and reliably, rare qualities that make him well worth the investment in my opinion.
(2) Not sure how your list of other languages is relevant. Just because there are other languages in addition to Aymara that could benefit from translations does not mean we should not continue to support Aymara. (3) I raised money more than two years ago from Trip Advisor to support our translation efforts and have repeatedly made requests for translators in languages we do not yet cover. Why is it only now that you are speaking up about these other languages? Do you have reliable translators lined up? If so, please answer my call and make a proposal. (4) The translation $s are coming from the Trip Advisor grant, money I raised specifically for these purposes. The general Sugar Labs funds are not at issue. (5) Regarding transparency, we hold public meetings -- as you well know -- and the opportunity for community members to voice their opinions is well established (for example this email thread). regards. -walter On Wed, Jan 20, 2016 at 4:35 AM, Laura Vargas <la...@somosazucar.org> wrote: > This example ilustrates my point.
